Joint Providership

“The ACCME defines joint providership as the providership of a CME activity by one or more accredited and one or more non accredited organizations.  Therefore, ACCME accredited providers (like FCM) that plan and present one or more activities with non-ACCME accredited providers are engaging in joint providership.”

Joint providership has been an established process for more than 25 years, affording accredited organizations the opportunity to collaborate with non-accredited organizations to enhance the diversity and value of your educational offerings.

Frequently Asked Questions

1

Can any organization apply for continuing education?

Not necessarily, an ineligible company is any entity producing, marketing, re-selling, or distributing health care goods or services consumed by, or used on patients. A commercial interest is not eligible for ACCME accreditation. An ineligible company cannot be accredited providers and cannot be joint providers.  We will evaluate and let you know if your entity qualifies.

2

What process is involved to become accredited?

Groups interested in applying need to complete an application.  The application is reviewed and the program is evaluated to see if it qualifies.  Websites, print material, presentations and speaker disclosures are all reviewed to ensure compliance with ACCME guidelines for commercial interest and content validation.  We will provide feedback and make recommendations as your program comes together.  We are an integral part of the planning process to ensure all guidelines are followed.

3
